Putin welcomes support to local IT equipment makers by mkt means

MOSCOW, Feb 6 (PRIME) -- President Vladimir Putin agreed on Wednesday with a proposal to elaborate measures to support Russian manufacturers of telecommunications equipment, but methods should be market-oriented.

“We should work out market methods of this support, let’s do it,” Putin said at a Business Russia forum in response to a request of one of the participants to order the government to think of priorities for telecommunications equipment of Russian make.

Putin also ordered the government and Business Russia to develop incentives, including taxation, for those who invest their own money in startups and “present corresponding suggestions shortly.”

Business Russia is a lobbying organization for medium and small-size businesses.
